What's Actually Open in Century City Right Now

If you read anything about Century City's restaurant scene last month, there's a decent chance it told you Rumi's Kitchen still didn't have an opening date. Coverage published in early and mid-August described the Persian restaurant's second-floor space at Westfield as overdue, with its own site still listing a Spring 2026 target and no revised timeline in sight. That was true when it was written. It isn't true anymore.

Rumi's Kitchen's own site now lists the Century City location as opened in 2026, with a full description of the finished room: a long, porcelain-tiled entry flanked by a traditional in-ground Persian water fountain, a mural by Dean Barger studios, a winding staircase that looks down over barrel-vaulted ceilings finished in Venetian plaster, and a rooftop dining area planted with pomegranate and satsuma orange trees. The kitchen runs on live fire and charcoal, the wine list reaches back to Middle Eastern bottles from the 1960s, and there are private rooms for up to 36 guests. None of that reads like a construction site. It reads like a restaurant that has been open long enough to write its own marketing copy about the finished space.

That correction matters for a simple reason. If you live in Century City and you've been holding off on a reservation because the internet told you the space wasn't ready, the internet is behind. Here's a more current picture of what's actually running on both sides of Avenue of the Stars this month.

Milos Already Has a Wine List Worth Arguing About

Across the street, at the Reuben Brothers' Century Plaza development, the same pattern shows up with Estiatorio Milos. The Greek seafood restaurant was announced back in December 2023 as one of three flagship names signing on to the promenade beneath Park Elm, alongside KYU and Sushi Noz. A dated wine-list review published June 21, 2026 confirms the restaurant is open and pouring, with glass prices running $18 to $28 and a wine program built around Greek Assyrtiko, the kind of detail a reviewer only writes after actually sitting at the bar. That's a restaurant far enough into its run to have a wine list worth critiquing, not one still waiting on a certificate of occupancy.

Between Rumi's Kitchen and Milos, that's two of the marquee names that outside coverage from earlier this summer treated as unresolved, both confirmed running as of this writing. If you've been keeping a mental list of "not yet" in Century City, cross both off.

What's Still Catching Up

Sushi Noz is the name still worth watching if you live within walking distance and keep checking the storefront. The most recent tenant roster available for the Century Plaza promenade still listed the two-Michelin-starred sushi counter as a "this year" target, alongside two names that weren't part of the original 2023 announcement at all: Wally's and Le Specialità. A wellness concept called The Estate, developed with Fountain Life, rounds out that same list. None of the four have a confirmed opening as of this writing. Given how the Rumi's Kitchen timeline played out, a "this year" target on a promenade roster is worth treating as a direction, not a date.

KYU rounds out the original trio Milos arrived with, an arc-shaped restaurant with a facade overlooking the plaza's central fountain, directly across from the Fairmont's lobby. It hasn't shown up in any dated review the way Milos has, so if you're planning a night around it specifically, it's worth a call ahead rather than an assumption.

The Mall's Other New Habit

Not everything new on the Westfield side involves a plate. Padel Up now runs outdoor courts on the roof, with turf surfaces and LED lighting built for night play, plus coaching and rentals for anyone who has never picked up a paddle. It is a small addition, but it says something about what the property is becoming. For a long stretch, Century City was a place people drove to for a matinee at the AMC or a Saturday at Bloomingdale's, then left. A rooftop padel club is not built for that kind of visit.

The mall also leans into its dining density on purpose. Its annual Foodie Week, a nine-day run in June, pulled more than 25 restaurants into one coordinated push this year, with Terra at Eataly running a $35 lunch and $65 dinner prix fixe alongside similar three-course deals at Katsuya and Casa Dani. If you live nearby and haven't circled it on next year's calendar yet, it's the easiest way to work through the mall's newer names without committing to a full-price tasting menu at each one.

The Small Reversal Worth Noticing

For years, Century City's dining identity was built on names arriving from somewhere else: a Miami barbecue concept, a New York sushi counter, a Spanish restaurant that already worked in another city. Very Thai flips that. The Taiwanese chain's Westfield location was already open and drawing coverage by late January 2026, and this year the same concept opened a second Los Angeles outpost in Silver Lake. That's a Century City tenant exporting outward instead of just importing in, which hasn't been the pattern here before.

If You're Deciding Where to Eat This Week

1. Book Rumi's Kitchen if you want the rooftop garden and haven't been since the delay headlines made you assume it wasn't ready. It is.
2. Try Milos if you're in the mood to spend on Greek seafood and a glass of Assyrtiko. The wine list is already drawing its own reviews.
3. Call ahead for Sushi Noz or KYU rather than planning a night around either. Neither has a confirmed, dated opening as of this writing.
4. Watch for next year's Foodie Week if you want to sample the mall's newer names at a fraction of full price.
